Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak is one of the easiest trekking peaks in Nepal, which is located 19 miles north of Kathmandu in the beautiful Langtang valley. It is close to the border of Tibet, below the main crest of the Himalaya. The valley is dominated by many snow capped mountains including Langtang Lirung (7,246m), the highest peak in this region. Yala Peak Climbing trip is combination of cultural trekking and exciting climbing itself. Yala Peak and Naya Kanga offers a wonderful introduction to mountaineering in the Himalaya, among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of Nepal.

To Climb Yala Peak begins from ancient city of Kathmandu with 8/9 hours scenic bus drive to Dhunche. Our trip begins through the sub-tropical jungle, then dense forest of oak, birch and pine before the valley opens out into alpine meadows and yak pastures to the Kyanjin Gompa at 3,800 m. During the spring these high meadows are carpeted with a rich variety of alpine flowers - gentians, violets, edelweiss and primulas to name just a few. The forests are in full bloom with rare orchids and the colorful rhododendron. Yala Peak Climbing trip is also known for their variety wildlife, including red pandas, Himalayan black bear, and wild boar and langur monkeys. We spend two nights for acclimatizing, taking day hikes in spectacular surroundings in Kyanjing Gumba. We establish base camp on a meadow at 4,800 m. We start the ascent from the valley of Kyangjin, where we camp in a superb setting, dominated by the fluted North West face of Kangchenpo, whilst Kyangjin Ri provides a splendid view. Then we move further up the valley to Yala, a small Yersa (summer hamlet). Basing ourselves here allows time to walk to the top of Tsergo Ri (5066m), the highest point on a broad flat plateau. The last 400 m is on ice so we will be using crampons, ice axe and rope. The views from summit of Yala Peak (5,500 m) offers you as spectacular as anywhere in the Himalaya, a 360 degree panorama of snow capped mountains including Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo. The view from the top is breathtaking - magnificent snow capped peaks all around you and views across to the mountains of Tibet, including Shishapangma.

The amazing Himalayan scenery with many breathtaking mountains, we descend from the Langtang Valley as far as Syabru Basi and retrace the same trail or follow a different trail, through the Sing Gomba, to the sacred lakes of Gosainkund then cross the Laurebina La (4,610m) and through the lovely villages of the Helambu region before returning back to Kathmandu. We at “Nepal Mother House Treks and Expedition” are glad to organize your Yala Peak Climbing according to your desires and your time schedule with our experienced climbing Guides and expert staff.
