Trekking Preparation

For the most treks you do not need to be a super athlete nor a mountaineer. But a few weeks of training or some hiking need before arriving in Nepal. It won’t be terribly enjoyable if you have to spend the trip of a lifetime struggling to walk the trails every day. Your trip preparation would have made the trails so much more worthwhile.

It is important to be in good physical fitness and mentally prepared before begin your trek. If you try to spend an hour a day hiking or walk upstairs rather than taking the lift, it helps for your upcoming trip. It will be best walk or cycle when you would normally drive or ride a bus. Running a few miles every day is probably the best physical activity to prepare for Nepal trip. While training period, you may also be breaking in those new trekking boots which would otherwise give you blisters on the first day on the trail.

If you can learn some Nepali languages will be great support during your trip. Try to studying about Nepali culture, custom and religious faith before come to Nepal. It wouldn’t hurt to try to find out as much as possible about Nepal’s customs especially about the particular trek that you have planned before arriving. With this sort of background knowledge you will be able to get much more out of your visit. We are always happy to provide you information with updated facts.

Karna, thank you so much for another wonderful trek. This is my 3rd trek with you - the first being the Annapurna Circuit and then a tour of the Everest region, starting at Jiri and then trekking up to Gokyo, going over Cho La, up to Kala Pattar and then up the Chukhung valley. I continue to learn so much about Nepal from you,..........
