Lower Manalsu Trek

Gorkha, the legendary of Historical and religious place, located mid western part of Nepal. From where the Great King Prithvi Narayan Shah started the unification of modern Nepal, and it was the first capital of Nepal. Here are many places of historical and archaeological significance in this area. Lower Manaslu Trek is inside Manaslu region, which are most significant areas of Nepal. The main palace has located on the top of hill, where the King Prithive Narayan Shaha, who used to rule all different kingdoms and finally made this modern Nepal. Among this here are many different temples inside the city; the famous goddess Kali and Gorakhnath temple are top of the hill just above the Gorkha city. And the museum is in heart of the city. It was gateway of the Manaslu Circuit trek and still some trekkers using now days too. The British militarily Gurkhas are origin from Gorkha districts, where a large population of the Magars and Gurungs people living in this area. Even now a day many people are serving in Gurkhas.

Gorkha is blessed by nature’s glory, this land of historic, religious holy site, ecological and cultural significance. It has every potential to be featured as one of the favored touristic new destinations in the Himalaya. Even though, the number of trekkers coming to this region is limited due to its lack of promotion. The district is home to Mount Manaslu and the famous Manaslu Trek. Besides, the Lower Manaslu route offers moderate trekking; historical tour, pilgrimage tour, agro tourism and community based home stay. The trek mainly starts either from Gorkha Bazaar or Kurintar Cabal Car, after 4 to 5 hours drive from Kathmandu. Then heading to Manakamana Temple "Goddess of willing” and progress through Gorkha Bazaar, Sirandanda, Barpak, Laprak, Lambai Kharka and concluding at Gyampesal after visit to the amazing view point “Dharche Danda (3200m)”. A fantastic panoramic view of Mountain ranges including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganash Himal mountain ranges can be seen from most of the trip. This trip can be combining with Trishuli River White Water Rafting from Charaudi to Kurintar and heading normal trekking route. The Lower Manaslu Trek organizes manly home stay or camping, there is just few places tea-houses accommodation available.

Lower Manaslu is mainly promoted as home stay trek for the individual trekkers who have aims to visit and explore with local people, their culture, tradition and the taste of organic foods and beverages are even more attraction of this area. Day to day itinerary

Day 00: Arrival at Kathmandu.

Day 00: Trip preparation and permit paper work day.

Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Kurintar (305) and cabal car to Manakamana (1315m) then Trek to Ghairung (1090m)

Day 02: Trek Ghairung-Gorkha Bazaar (1,060m)

Day 03: Gorkha Bazaar Excursion day

Day 04: Trek Gorkha Bazaar to Sirandanda (1,900m)

Day 05: Trek Sirandanda to Barpak (1,920m)

Day 06: Trek Barpak to Laprak (2,100)

Day 07: Trek Laprak to Nambai Kharka (2,700m)

Day 08: Trek Nambai Kharka to Tallo Thotneri (1,560m)

Day 09: Trek Tallo Thotneri to Gyampesal (1,130m)

Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu (1,350m)

Day 00: Your own destination.

Note: Some time we could face problem due to flight delayed by few hours or cancelled for a day because of bad weather or road traffic. It is happen very rarely, but it could even in best trekking season also as you know how climate change is effecting our globe and the mountain weather is un predicable. Therefore, we always recommend you to add one supplement night in Kathmandu after your trek if possible (just for incase). If everything runs smoothly, you can enjoy other activities like sightseeing, rafting, shopping, as you wish.


Cost Include

  • Full board meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) during trek with Tea, coffee each meal in a cup.
  • All ground transportation by private vehicles or Local bus.
  • Lower Manaslu Trekking permit
  • TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) Card.
  • Teahouse or Homestay Accommodation Twin bed sharing basic entire trip per as available.
  • Warm down Jacket and Sleeping Bag for the trek.
  • Government license holder experienced Local Guide with their food, accommodation, salary, equipments.
  • Porter (between every 2 person basis) Max.20-25 kg. Plus their food, accommodation, salary, equipments
  • One Sherpa (assistance guide) if group size more than 6 people. Plus their food, accommodation, salary and equipments.
  • Duffle Bag during trek and first Aid medical kid.
  • Tourist service charge, vat, Governments Tax and official expanse if necessary.
  • Insurance for all staff.
  • Welcome and Fare well program.

Cost Exclude

  • All kind of beverage including mineral water, Phone calls, laundry, hot shower during Trek.
  • Clients travel Insurance and evacuation (compulsory).
  • Tipping for Guide and Porters.
  • Personal expenses like Shopping, souvenirs or gift.Personal mountaineering gears.
  • Optional trips and sightseeing if extend.
  • International airfare, airport departure tax and Visa fee.
