Lower Dolpo Trekking

The remote “Lower Dolpo” is situated far west part of Nepal in Shey Phoksundo National Park. Lower Dolpo Trekking was opened in 1989 for the trekkers, this region is hard to match for its pristine beauty and rugged charm, where one can still have opportunity to meet the nomadic people and their life style almost untouched and unexplored. Snowy peaks, ancient and isolated villages, rich wildlife, ancient Buddhist monasteries, beautiful lakes and also to experience the vast array of wildlife inhabiting the region.

Lower Dolpo Trek provides us the opportunities to visit ancient villages, high passes, beautiful Phoksundo Lake, isolated Buddhist monasteries, breath taking waterfalls and also to experience the vast array of wildlife inhabiting on the backdrop of the high snow capped Himalayan peaks. It becomes more fascinating with every time you return. Lower Doipo Trekking start from Juphal, after two small flights to Nepalgunj on first day and Juphal on second day. The trek goes through antique villages in the beginning and through high and remote alpine area and passes later and finally come down to beautiful Shey Phoksundo Lake (3,600m), we will trek back to Juphal again with a different route where we catch flight back to Kathmandu. Dolpo is isolated country where you should make lot of ascend and descend, therefore we recommend this Trip only for experience trekkers. It covers with the wild and wonderful variety of flora and fauna, including Blue sheep, Mountain Goat, Jackal, Wolf and the legendary Snow Leopard. So the Lower Dolpo Trip offers you the remarkable and worthwhile experience of lifetime.

Lower Dolpo Trekking can be organizing only by camping (Tented Camp), where you will sleep in tents. Our staff includes a guide, cook, Sherpa and sufficient porters to carry all trekking gear. It is possible to make shorter and longer as our clients demands. We at “Nepal Mother House Treks and Expeditions” operate this ‘off the beaten trail trekking” with our highly experienced guides and staffs considering our clients’ requirements and holiday schedule. We operate this Trekking whole in the year but the best time is fall and spring season.
