Langtang Trekking

Langtang Trekking is towards the north of Katmandu, just south of the Tibetan border, offers a multitude trekking destinations. It is sandwiched between the gigantic Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. The literate word Langtang is originates from two different words ‘Lang’ and ‘Tang’; Lang means Yak and Tang means to follow. Langtang Region offers splendid natural beauties and cultural diversity with spectacular Himalayan scenery.

In 1971 Langtang region was recognized as Nepal’s first Himalayan National Park and is now a protected area of, 1,710 square kilometers. Most trekking within this area falls within the boundary of Langtang National Park incorporates Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchok districts. Trekking in Langtang is different experiences that could not be found elsewhere and has over 70 glaciers of varying sizes 108 different holy lakes; including Gosainkunda, Parvatikunda, Bhairavkunda, Dudhkunda etc religious serene of Hindus and Buddhists. Langtang Trek is composing of the rich Tamang art and culture at Gutlang and Goljung. The ancient Buddhist monasteries such as Kyanjin and Sing-gumpa are holy serene, Tatopani (natural hot springs) and the historic fort of Rasuwa-gadi in the china-Nepal border also most significant.
