Helambu Trekking lies in the 75 km north east from capital city Kathmandu. This is climax of green valleys, misty rhododendron forests, and distant horizons of snowy peaks and the colorful contrast of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist cultures. It is an ideal destination trek for the short holiday visitors in Nepal in the un-spoilt region.

A relatively low altitude trip is one of the most convenient for any age people. This is more like cultural trek than mountain and glacier expeditions, which can be completed in only seven days and is well supplied with good tea house in each settlement. The people of here are predominantly Tamang with Sherpa people inhabiting the higher villages, particularly Melamchi Gaon, Tarkegyang and Sermathang. People here call themselves as Sherpa but their customs and dialects are different with the Sherpa of Solu Khumbu’s. Along the way, we visit mixed ethnic group settlements Brahmins, Tamangs, Newar and Sherpa people. Helambu Trekking offers excellent views of mountains that include the Langtang (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m), the Annapurna, Manaslu and other small mountains of Langtang Himalayan range and even Everest on a clear day.

Then we continue to walk make almost a circle through the Khtumsang, Tharapati, Tarkeghyang, Sarmathang and finally to Melamchi; the site of a mega project to bring drinking water to Kathmandu via a series of tunnels then we take bus or private vehicle back to Kathmandu.
