Ganja La Pass Trekking is one of the most challenging pass, known as Langtang Adventure trip also. It is a combination of cultural natural beauties with varieties of vegetation and wildlife. The Ganjala Pass Trekking is located north of Kathmandu, accessible by a 132 km drive to the Langtang national Park. The trip into Helambu area via the Ganja-La pass is a serious undertaking, requiring good equipment and experience from local guides.
Our Langtang Ganja La Pass Trek is an opportunity to explore typical Tamang villages, their culture is similar to Tibetan’s and the panoramic Himalayan view of the Langtang Lirung, Gahesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Yala Peak, Naya Kang, Gaurishanker including the giant Annapurna Himalayan range far in the horizon. Beyond the Kyanjin Gumba, there are no facilities any lodges or tea houses along the trail. That’s why the groups must be fully self-sufficient by food and camping gear.
The tea house and camping operating adventure Gangala Pass Trek starts from Sybrubensi towards to Langtang Valley follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyanjin Gompa (3,049m), a small Buddhist monastery and a qualities cheese factory, starting in 1955. The trail leads up to the high alpine yak pastures and glaciers moraines around at Ngegang (4,404 m). From the trail of Ganja La Pass (5,122m) one can see spectacular views of Langtang Lirung and the Tibetan peaks beyond. The trail follows a small valley before reaching the glaciated pass where need to be use ropes, crampons, and ice axes. The descent from the pass is on a steep slope over 1 km, which requires good care again. But the rest of the trail is easy and comfortable. After Pass, the trail takes you Kelchung which can be reached from another series of huts at Dukpu (4,023m). Next we head southwest descending past Gekye Gompa to reach Tarke Ghyang in Helambu valley and follow the trek trail to Melamchi Pul Bazaar or Talamarang and catch a bus to Kathmandu. A distinctly Tibetan feel and you will see fields enclosed by stone walls as well as herds of yaks and livestock in the Helambu.
We at “Nepal Mother House Treks” are glad to deign your holiday year round with experienced local guide and staff. We recommended the Ganjala Pass Trek to be undertaken during the beginning of September to mid-November and March to May.
