Unforgettable Nepal Trek with Karna !

Karna, thank you so much for another wonderful trek. This is my 3rd trek with you - the first being the Annapurna Circuit and then a tour of the Everest region, starting at Jiri and then trekking up to Gokyo, going over Cho La, up to Kala Pattar and then up the Chukhung valley. I continue to learn so much about Nepal from you, even on my 3rd trip! On the Langtang trek, I appreciated the stories about the bee hives on the cliffs, and the trail that was closed because of the black bear. And thank you for translating the stories from our Nepali friends that we met along the way. Those cured Nepalese lepers, that were training to climb Everest, were incredible and so interesting to talk with.

When I got sick for a couple of days at Kyanjin Gompa, you did a great job of caring for me, bringing me soup and tea, and encouraging me to eat when I felt nauseous. You were so patient on the trail until I recovered my strength. Above Thulo Syabru, I really like the local trails that you took Chris and I on, away from the main trail. It was fun walking through the local farmers fields, visiting with the locals, but it was sure tiring climbing all their fences! At Gosainkund, you did such a great job telling stories about the lakes, the gods, and the hindu's that pilgrimage there each August. On top of Laurebina La, the awesome view of the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and the Annapurnas will be etched in my mind forever. I wish we could have spent more time lying on the grass taking in that incredible view. The whole trip was perfect. And those orchids were so beautiful, as we descended toward Sundarijal.

After arriving in Kathmandu, celebrating Tihar Tika with your family was very special for me. I will never forget it. And finally, thank you for your wonderful tour of the Kathmandu valley, including a cherished trip back to Jawalakhel to purchase a wonderful carpet for my wife. You helped me pick out a great one, and my wife loves it! Anyone that books a trip with Nepal Mother House Treks is in for a real treat!

What a FABULOUS TRIP we had on our Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Sanctuary Trip !

Our party of 7 visited Nepal for the first time in November 2010 to trek for 5 weeks and what an amazing adventure we had. We were very fortunate to have been recommended a great guide and guy, Karna Rana. He along with other members of his company, Nepal Mother House Treks and Expedition, helped us plan our trek around both the Annapurna Circuit and Sanctuary which we completed with great success. The advice and help given during both our email communications and once we arrived in Nepal was super, he understood our requirements and needs and carried them out professionally, effectively and efficiently.

From the time he met us at the airport (the flight was late but Karna had waited and with his friendly, calm manner, quickly got us transferred to the hotel with minimal fuss), to the time he waved goodbye to us at the end of the trip, full of Nepalese Magic , that is already drawing us back, his care for us during our time in Nepal and for both us and his staff whilst on the trek plus his extensive knowledge and experience enabled us to have a brilliant trip. I highly recommend Karna and their company.

“Excellent service - highly recommend!”

I did two treks with Nepal Mother House and highly recommend using this company. From initial contact Karna always replied to any email queries without delay. I did both the Poon Hill trek and Everest Base Camp and both guides and porters were awesome to trek with. They were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They were also very flexible with the itinerary. During the Poon Hill trek I was particularly impressed and grateful with Karna and my guide Bibek. On the morning we were due to leave my partner broke the news that I was feeling ill and could not travel as planned. Karna was very accommodating and organised alternative travel arrangements for us to arrive in Pokhara. He even took my partner to a local pharmacy at 7am in the morning to buy me some medicine.

After reaching Everest Base Camp I started to experience symptoms of altitude sickness and my guide Kapil was very attentive and flexible with the itinerary when we decided to go down rather than continue to Cho La Pass. He is also fun to play cards with during the evenings in teahouses :)

“2 weeks in Nepal with 5 day Poon Hill Trek”

From first contact Karna was a pleasure to work with and organized everything very efficiently for us. I contacted a few companies in Kathmandu before our first trip to Nepal and Karna was able to give us the itinerary that we wanted (and suggested a few alterations to make it more efficient) at a price that we were comfortable with. He met us upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu and outlined everything in detail with us so that we didn't have any surprises as far as what was included or not. By far, the highlight of our trip was our 5 day Ghorepani/Poon Hill trek.

Our guide, Kapil, was amazing offering alternate routes while we were trekking in order to get the most out of our time. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend Karna and Kapil to anyone travelling to Nepal, and will definitely be contacting him again for our next trip to the area.

“Manaslu Circuit & Tsum Valley”

From our first contact with Nepal Mother House by email, my husband & I felt we were in good hands. Karna Rana’s responses were swift and clear. The pricing was also very transparent. Karna came to meet us when we arrived in Kathmandu and, due to impending strikes in the city, it was necessary to change our plans to travel by jeep the following day, all of which was dealt with very efficiently and we were on the road in under 24 hours.

Our guide Prem and porter Rudra were both wonderful. Not only were they excellent at their jobs, but they were both such good company. Prem was extremely professional and did everything to make our journey comfortable and enjoyable, sorting out accommodation & food, even cooking when necessary. Rudra was always cheerful and very helpful, and we made a very happy group together.

We feel very privileged to have trekked the Manaslu Circuit & the Tsum Valley at a time when the area is only just starting to develop. It is a truly beautiful region and the local people were so friendly and welcoming. The trek itself was a challenging, but very rewarding.

We had expected to enjoy ourselves; we did not expect we would have such an amazing experience.

We would have no hesitation recommending Nepal Mother House to others, and we will use them again when we return.

Manaslu circuit and Tsum Valley Trek Nov 2013”

We trekked with Nepal Mother House for 24 days in November 2013 around the Manaslu circuit with an extension into the Tsum Valley. Throughout the arrangement of the trek and during the trek itself we received an outstanding service from Nepal Mother House. Karna was always swift to answer our questions prior to our arrival in Nepal and met us at the airport to take us to the accomodation that he had arranged for us. Our trekking permits were organised by Karna and by our excellent guide Kapil which allowed us to explore Kathmandu rather than spending our first day standing in queues. At all times during the trek we were looked after by our guide Kapil who quietly ensured everything (food, accomodation, buses to and from the trek etc) went to plan. Kapil's knowledge of the area surpassed that of any guide book and was invaluable when making changes to our itinerary during the trek, allowing us to maintain flexibility and to get the very most out of our trip.

It was no coincidence that many of the other guides we met during our trek sought his advice! We were also pleased to find that both Kapil and our porter Dinesh were suitably equiped for the trek as this was something we had stressed prior to confirming our booking. They were both good company and hard working. We had an amazing trip which was made possible by Nepal Mother House who delivered on everything they said they would and at a very reasonable price. We would thoroughly recommend this agency.

“Great company, excellent service, strongly recommend”

We used Nepal Mother House for the Everest Base Camp trek in May and i could not have asked for a better experience. Our guide Kapil was excellent and looked after us very well, along with speaking great English. All aspects of the trek were taken care of including flights to and from Lukla, porter who was strong, kind and friendly, accommodation at each lodge and all meals breakfast lunch and dinner each day.

In the months leading up to the trek, Karna replied and answered all of our inquiries and questions through email and also looked after us if we needed anything from lending us a Nepalese mobile phone to showing us around Thamel and bargaining for us during our shopping trips. Highly recommend going with this trekking company :)

“Honest, Reliable and Fair Prices”

Hi, I used Nepal Mother House Tours for two trips when I was in Nepal last Summer. First we did a 10 day trip to Langtang National Park. The guide, logistical setup and gave great advice on what to bring on the trip. We had a great time About a month later I set up another trip to Upper Mustang. We were gone 18 days and it required much more planning.

Again, they gave me great advice, set me up with an outstanding guide , took care of all of the trip logistics and we had a trip of a lifetime. The other thing I can say about Karna is that he is a man of integrity, he punctual and organize a great trip for you at a fair price. Here is a link to an iMovie post of Youtube of pictures and short video clips made from my Upper Mustang Adventure..Click Here

Nepal is a tough place for travel and prepare and expect the unexpected ...but it can be a life changing event.

“Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit”

This was my first time in Nepal. I went with a friend who had been many times before. We chose Nepal Mother trekking because of their professional and courteous staff. My friend had used them before, and believe me they were great. We took a 25 day trek starting in Arughat Bazar up the Tsum valley, then back to the Manaslu Circuit up over Larkya La (5160 meter) high pass and down to Besi Sahar. The guide (and Owner) was great. He dealt with changing conditions on the trek, found us really nice places for overnight, and was very helpful on the trek. We did homestays in the Tsum Valley and he found us comfortable accommodations. These overnight stays really allowed us to get to know how the local people lived. We were able to communicate with them through the guide and find out about their families, their culture and their way of life.

Just the experience of that part of the trip was worth the whole trip. Karna (the guide) kept track of changing weather conditions along the route, and had us acclimated well by the time we reached the higher elevations. Even though I brought with me medicine for elevation sickness I did not have any need for it, since our guide did have us acclimated. To be honest I had never been that high in altitude and was very worried about that part of the trip, but like I said it was not any problems at all. The porters that the company hired were extremely helpful and friendly. We ended up learning several Nepalese card games and enjoyed playing them with the porters and the guide.

For anyone planning a trek I would highly recommend checking out Nepal Mother House. I was lucky to have such a great company for my first trek and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience for their trek.

“Himalaya Trekking”

If considering trekking in the Himalayas, I would strongly recommend contacting Karna at the Nepal Mother House. This adventure company is very professional and Karna has a wonderful manor.

Initially we had arranged only a porter and guide through The Nepal Mother House. The connecting flights to Lukla and accommodation were arranged elsewhere. When we arrived in Kathmandu, we were informed that our flights were cancelled, this had a knock on affect on our accommodation arrangements and we were having difficulties with making alternate arrangements. When we went to Karna's office to explain our dilemma, he took full responsibility of the situation and arranged all of our trekking necessities (and gave us tea).

We found ourselves with extra days in Kathmandu due to the changes so Karna kindly took us on a tour of the Temples and the city highlights and ensured we had an excellent experience of Kathmandu as well as the trek to Everest base camp.

His spoken English is excellent, which is priceless when you find yourself in the overwhelming City of Kathmandu.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Nepal Mother House,

“Nepal Mother House Treks and Adventures - Everest Base Camp Trek”

When I plan to visit Nepal for the Everest Base Camp Trek, I browsed through the numerous 'Trek operators' in the net and Nepal Mother House stands out among the rest. there is good reasons for choosing Nepal Mother House - fast responds for all my queries.

When everything was set, I was in Kathmandu with Mr Karna Rana himself at the Airport to meet me, a surprise indeed. Even though I was trekking solo, he provided me with an English speaking Guide and a strong porter. The three of us got along very well throughout the Everest Base Camp Trek (14 days) at 2011. I am satisfied with the whole trip and the package which was tailored to my requirements. For the extraordinary service, I return again to Nepal for the Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Base Camp Trek in March, 2013.

" Lifetime Experince at Arun Valley Tumlingtar to EBC Trek"

It was an amazing time on this trip! I was worried about coming to Nepal since I did not have time to plan the trip myself – however, Mr. Kapail Thapa (Guide of Nepal Mother House Treks and Expedition) figured at my entire trip for me!

All things on the trip were perfect – better than I could have planned myself. Because I had such a great time on my trip, I am sure that I will be coming back to visit Nepal again! Everything hotels, Guides and transportation were perfect – I didn't have to worry about anything while on my trip. It was grand!
