Bardiya Jungle Safari Tour

Bardia National Park is situated on the eastern banks of the Karnali River as plains land, about 400-km west of capital city Kathmandu. The parks are the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai which covers 968 sq. km in area and extends from the Churia hills southward to the gentle slopes of the 'Bhabhar' area. The western end of the Bardia is bounded by numerous waterways of the Karnali River, which have created many large and small gravel islands.

In the beginning, a small area was gazetted as the Royal Karnali Wildlife Reserve in 1976. When this area was protected, approximately 1500 people of the Babai valley were resettled outside the park allowing the vegetation and wildlife to thrive. In 1982, it was renamed as Bardia Wildlife Reserve, and in 1984 it was extended to its current size. The reserve was given the status of a National Park in 1988. Royal Bardiya National Park is mosaic of grassland and forest of Acacia, Sisam and the large Buttrersed silk cotton trees cover these islands and much lower to the ground. Bardia is the home of a wide variety of animals, many of which live in and around the National Park. Spotted deer, Black buck, Hog deer, Samber deer, Wild boar, Swamp deer, two species of Monkeys, Wild elephants, Crocodile, Dolphin and Blue bull are found in Royal Bardiya national Park during your Wildlife Safari. And more than 350 species of birds have been recorded in Bardia, truly a bird watcher's paradise.

In addition, there will be nature walks in the jungle as well as bird watching and village tours, all of which will be accompanied by expert naturalists. The highlight of this trip will be viewing from the watch towers (Machhan) to have the wild sightseeing, accompanied by our experienced naturalist and wildlife trackers. Excellent photographic opportunities are ample. We “Nepal Mother house treks” glad to design your Bardiya Wildlife Safari Tour as our fixed program and as per your itinerary.
